INTERNATIONAL NIGHT / diversity week

HEEHEE. I brought the program home so I can talk about every part of it (that I liked) x]

Hmm.. so the MC Yeshar - pretty funny and charismatic dude, as usual xP

:D The Chinese Dance Club! Kate looked sooo cute x]!! I was so glad to actually face them this time on an actual stage, instead of being high above and behind them. Haha - PEACOCKS!

OMG!!! THE HOMESTEAD PERFORMANCE (only one performance from homestead) was REALLY COOL!!! These two girls played the Marimba and OMG IT WAS SOO COOL LIKE OMGGG!!! OMG!! HAHA SOO AMAZING. The beginning of their song was cool AND LIKE their Mario thing AND LIKE THE RUNNING AROUND AND IT WAS LIKE *O* OMG SO AMAZING. AND THE GLOWSTICKS! So smart! As you can see, I liked it. I wish I brought my camera.

The Cupertino breakdance was pretty cool too, haha. There was a nice good flow to it. And the music was interesting, and their moves corresponded pretty well to it (duh). But OMG THEY BREAKDANCED TO VSQ'S VERSION OF OWL CITY'S "FIREFLIES"!!! WHICH. I MUST MUST FIND omg.

!!! JOHN CHOW FROM LYNBROOK - THE NATION'S SIXTH BEST YOYO-ER. HE. WAS COOL. Yahni liked him the best, haha. It was like some electrical impulse was running through his nerves and moving the yoyo around so smoothly and the CRYSTAL BALL!! I never get how people do those things!!! That was really cool, too.

Hehe the actual speech part of the performance was... well, for some reason it impacted me more than it did when I just watched it on youtube - -" I didn't know the countries all spelled out "PAIN" D: So ironic, as life is. But it's pretty cool that Polio is ALMOST gone. If we work hard we can wipe it out like smallpox :D

SYNTHESIS was AMAAAAAAAAAZING. They were the winners of this year's IDC Talent show. Basically, they used cellos, violins, and a piano (one of the previous breakdancers!!) and played pop songs - kind of like VSQ does (except with a piano). They were soooo cool!!!!! The violinist was really good, and the celloists were just as amaazing ;] Makes me want to join Chamber even more!!! But saddens me even more to know that I might not even make it :[

And who can forget BHANGRA?! There were actually three bhangra performances for the End Polio program, but honestly - even if I wasn't an MV student, I would still think MV Bhangra was the best. They're just so much more spirited and energetic and COLORFUL! And their FACIAL EXPRESSIONS have a big impact on the audience as well.

*O* Yea I skipped writing about a few performances, because some of them were only okay, and some were like.... why are you even here? But the whole purpose was to give money to help those with Polio, so that makes up for the 'bad stuff'. Tensync went wayy below my expectations, and I was kind of disappointed - -"... And I have no clue why Brown Sound was there. It was just as awkward as last time.

AND I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS FOOD! = =" I thought, gosh, this program ended kind of early but there was this sort of Buffet thing after! I didn't know that! I DIDN'T WEAR ENOUGH I thought the show was gonna be really long and so all I needed was a light jacket, but - -".. And Mrs. Evard didn't even put extra credit up *O* THEIR CAKE TASTED GOOD. Except I'm not supposed to eat cake - or eat this late, haha.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well it was a pretty cool day + night :D I would give today like an 8.5 out of 10, because of various reasons. But I'm still pissed off about something - -".. whatever.

And diversity week! ^^; Makes me soooo freakin happy to see people so proud of their culture, but able to mingle in with the rest of the nationalities - to make America such a rainbow of a nation. That's probably the only good thing about America - -". Unfortunately, there is still some discrimination, but at least it's not as heavy as elsewhere. I mean seriously, if you're so freakin nationalistic, then just get out of here, you know? It's not America's fault for warmly accepting so many people. And it's like, the 21st century, too. Just be happy we're not as stupid as the British - -

---------------------------------------------

I have CSF tomorrow - early morning aaaagh. I can't wear my converse or they'll get ruined again. SPORT SHOES. I donated my .. better looking ones. Now I have to wear my weird ones. But that's okay. I'll just like like a nerd like I always do at CSF events.

- -" Gosh and now I'm kind of frustrated that Mrs. Platt said that UC Berkely is the second Monta Vista. Becase it kind of is, wasn't there like more than 10% of the population there that were MV Alumni? x___x Makes me feel dumb :[ But I'm just going to keep using the excuse that my cousin almost got killed there so I'm not going (if I don't get accepted.. duh.) - -" The only reason I would want to go now is because... well, it's still a good school and all, but the PEOPLE! I still get to see some fellow classmates! And since it's a second Monta Vista, it'll just be as frustrating haha. I'm starting to find that kind of fun now, to be honest - -"

>:[ Tomorrow I have to take portraits of my sister. And starting Monday, (since this weekend I'll kind of be doing other stuff - -), I'm just gonna study TEN HOURS STRAIGHT - the only breaks in between would be going pee/poo and eating .___. . What do I study? APUSH, AP BIO, SAT RAH RAH RAH. And then after the ten hours, VIOLIN VIOLIN VIOLIN VIOLIN LIKE A MAD[WO]MAN.... My gosh :[ If I get in, I'll cry. If I don't get in, I'll cry too, haha. But the other kind of crying will make me feel dead the whole day.

*O* Gosh I'm so hopeless. Why Junior year? Why so late in life when I only ahve 3.5 years of my teen life left? What have I been doing?? Oh yea, maplestory - -".... Eff you, maplestory. I should have never downloaded you. Hmph.
