I've recently tried to learn to "re-appreciate" my Asian culture, however, it isn't entirely working. So far I've just been determined to rid of my American accent when speaking Chinese. If I feel like I'm not comfortable or confident enough while speaking Chinese, at least try to sound like it. Many horrible accents arise from being afraid to enunciate the sounds fully in a langauge. But either way, Chinese can sound gross and nasal-y sometimes.
This Villette book is also incredibly boring! As of now, I'm only reading it for the sake of finishing it; I've only 34 or so pages left to read. It was said to be a finer novel than Jane Eyre, but I refuse to believe so. Next, I will be returning to some Jane Austen novels.
I also feel like I'm losing the "art" side of me. I haven't felt like playing the piano lately, nor have I felt like taking photographs (but I think that's mostly because there's nothing to take pictures of here).
A few of my friends have gone off for college, and another one is leaving to Europe on my birthday.
I also have to work for six hours straight on my birthday.
Goodbye, childhood.
