Today is a Sunday, and I had to go to church at 8:15! This is the earliest I've ever had to wake up for church. I was supposed to meet a mini band at the Activities Center (otherwise known to me as the gym of the campus) but I thought it was the Student Center and I peeked and was like what where is everybody? So I went to the gym area and was like oh... there's everybody. And this is a big room.
So we rehearsed four songs and then at 9:00 I got to talk to three middle schoolers! Haha I suck at initiating conversation with people not around my age... but these girls were lovely. One of them goes to Kennedy, one of them is homeschooled, and the other goes to school in Los Altos. I told the Kennedy girl that once she goes to Monta Vista (which she will in a few months), to take classes that she really wants to take and not to be peer pressured into taking whatever everyone else is taking. I'm not sure if she'll really take in that advice. Then at 9:20 the mini band went up and we played the songs and we had to stay there until 10:20 even though Pastor Daniel and myself had to go to the main sanctuary at 10:15.
I also had a stomachache for a while and this strange heartburn-like feeling right between my esophagus and stomach.
So the contemporary service started and then three songs in, I had to do my solo ahhhh. I will be honest it was very scary, and usually when I sing at home I think I sound my age, but for some reason on the microphone, to me at least, I sounded like a little girl.... The first half I was just trying to gain my composure and get my heart rate to lower and then the second half went like a breeze (praise God). I was also supposed to speak before playing the song but I totally forgot to. Oh well. My lips and mouth got really dry, so I drank lots of water and really had to use the restroom during the sermon but just held it until the end. I also didn't bring my chapstick/lip balm so that sucked.
IN THE AUDIENCE, I also saw an old friend of mine! She was the very first person to ever bring me to any church - she brought me to HOC5 in first grade. It was interesting spotting her and her sister in the audience. Life goes around in a large circle.
Apparently barely anyone went to the Bible Study last week, haha... but I hope to see everyone again on Friday! I feel like people in the congregation are only nicer to me now after seeing me sing on my own... ha... anyways, after Carolyn told me that no one went to the Bible study last week, we met up with some BRITISH FAMILY and they had the most adorable baby with big, blue eyes.
And THEN I went to Panera and saw GRACE! Well, I saw her car first and went inside and she said hi and we talked a bit yep.
Tis a good day so far. I'm super tired though.
