le vingt-deux mars

There's this strange person in one of my classes. A friend of mine in that class and I knew that something was definitely off about this person, and then later I discovered that this person actually had a learning disability which allowed me to "tolerate" this person more. In this class today, we had to get in groups and do this exercise where we take on the persona of a character in this novel we're reading - so basically kind of like acting, except not really - we just had to mentally get ourselves to think like them. Getting yourself to get into the persona of another person is emotionally is rather difficult. But I must admit, this exercise we did today really helped a lot with analyzing these characters.

Anyways, I had to work with this "strange person" in class today. This person was always participated in class even up to an excessive extent, and it's always just super awkward conversing with this person. We both took up the personas of different people of the novel, and I must admit it was sort of frightening seeing this person change from different personalities.

However, that's what actors do all the time, right? My friends and I were discussing one day perhaps that's why it's sort of easy to spot people who are in theatre. There's just something about their personality that makes them stand out - and it's intriguing how people can sort of have multiple personalities at once. But the freaky thing is that this person in my class doesn't do theatre... something is actually not mentally correct with this person... which is why I don't feel like disclosing the name.

But just in general - everyone has different personalities. I mean it's okay to have one general personality and then have "wings" off to different ones, as long as they connect but it's just so unbelievably ridiculous how people can act a certain way in one environment and then completely different in another.

Isn't it tiring? I mean yeah, I'll say things like "I'm fine" when people ask me how I am when I'm actually not fine - that's another kind of "acting". But really, do any of you honestly get tired of your fake selves?
