Thanksgiving 感恩節 2012

Just a heads up, this post is going to sound a lot casual than usual.

So my mother, sister and I went over to our uncle's house.  In total, there were eight of us sharing a meal together.  The turkey they single-handedly prepared themselves along with the potatoes they made were very, very good.  We brought along a Marie Calender's Lemon Cream Cheese Pie.  We also drank some Cabernet Sauvignon wine along with the desert!  It was the second time I've drank that much wine before.  When I first drank it, I could taste the blackberry and the alcohol but then later the aftertaste was just like sour air.  I drank about a cup and my cheekbones got really red and I got really fidgety, but I don't know if the fidgety-ness was from the wine or from the meal.  My sister had the same effects ahaha.  And at the table we just talked about random stuff from politics to school.  When all eight of us got silent, I told my cousin Allen how the sound of all of us munching quietly sounded like a flowing steam running to rocks/small pebbles and he was like wow that was poetic ahaha and I thought he was just joking but now when I think back I think it was pretty poetic.  And random.

Afterwards, our Uncle went to sleep cause he had to wake up early for Black Friday (he works at Fry's Electronics), my mother went to talk with our aunt, our oldest cousin went to study for some big doctor's examination, and my sister and I played a very confusing card game with our other two cousins.  All I will say about the card game is that I lost both times we played.  So yeah.

I also totally forgot to ask my cousins to edit my UC essays!  I had specifically printed them out to have them read it there and then but I just have to result to sending everything via email again.

But yeah, it was nice to see them and to be treated like our age because usually our cousins, who are at the least seven years older than us, treat us like little girls.

So we went home, and I went back out to Target because their Black Friday sale started at 9:00 pm!  I got lucky and easily found a close parking spot.  However, there was a line outside and it was cold, but I probably stayed outside for only two minutes.  Not many things were on sale, but I got two really nice black jackets - one at $10 and one at $15.  I also got new flats that weren't on sale and a pillowcase for my mother.  The line was really long, it snaked through the make-up and beauty section of target.  I probably stayed in that line for 10 minutes.  There was this older group of adults in front of me and the guy knew all the names of the famous figures in the make-up aisle, such as Emma Stone and Zooey Deschanel, while his other two friends were like 'whaaat how do you know all this stuff' like seriously you guys really need to dig into pop culture more.  Even someone as me who isn't 'hipster' nor 'mainstream', I know this stuff! He was even telling them how Zooey Deschanel has an older sister who starts in a TV show called Bones!  He definitely knows his stuff.

Then I went over to Sears to check out their early Black Friday sale and there were soo many people in front of every single check-out station and every merchandise was basically thrown around wherever there was walking room and it was like a total mess.  I didn't buy anything, seeing that the check-out line went all the way to the exits, but I did find things that I liked.  Maybe I'll go buy them sometime this weekend, we'll see.

The moon is also shining super bright tonight.
