Peace: Post IV

So I'm pretty far into this book now - but some things seem sort of out of line for me.  Some of these things include Reverend Moon divorcing someone (which Christians technically aren't allowed to do - especially under the minor circumstances that Moon was in), then marrying someone old enough to be his daughter, and then not fully explaining his philosophy towards marriage.  He is also very naive towards sending out missionaries and tries to explain his logic towards certain ideas but just ends up begging the question.  So, I decided to ask the worship pastor and his wife about this guy, since they're also Christian Koreans and they might have heard of him.

It turns out that they obviously have heard of this guy, and don't approve of the many things he does - and they describe him as a cult leader.  He's the founder of the "Unification Church", which holds mass weddings for people from different cultures and religions who have never even met each other and he marries them.  He does have good intentions, but perhaps marriage isn't the only solution to this as he thinks it is.  He never really logically explains his objectives for missions, either, which I find quite odd.

I definitely agree with a lot of the things he talks about, such as peace in the family and constant prayer and a few other things.  I'll just try to finish the book but definitely with the knowledge that his autobiography is sugar-coating his life (the internet and other resources have fuller explanations of controversies regarding him).
