fake people. It literally makes me cringe and squeamish inside when someone is pretending to be something they're not and above all - makes me want to avoid them.
I think that's one reason why I disliked high school so much. People that were obviously not very smart in certain academic subjects acted like they were just to impress people. And just to say, I unfortunately could be classified as those people - but I really hated it. I didn't like biology, history, nor mathematics. I just took all the APs because that was essentially the norm and it felt so unnatural and above all I just absolutely hated it. Like honestly, I was fooling myself - and so were a lot of other people. I really wish I didn't go to Monta Vista. It made me really narrow-minded about life. Thankfully, I'm out of that phase.
And some of the people - I won't say who - pretending to be the nicest, most understanding people when all they want is to use you in some way or end up backstabbing you. Soo stupid. Like honestly, don't bother. If you're a careless person most of the time - let us all know so we don't waste our time with you.
If you're a nerd - be one - you're smart and academically talented, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. If you're a prodigal artist and no one seems to think you have a future, you have the innate ability to prove them wrong. If you're some bad-ass druggie who loves cussing then cuss all you want - don't pretend to be an angel and fairy dust everything around you. It's pretty obvious when you're cussing for the sake of sounding cool and if you're cussing because it's the real you. Honestly, it'll show - and if you're trying not to cuss when in reality you cuss so naturally, then cuss! You just give off all these awkward vibes when you're trying to hide it and it's so unreal.
If you're interested in something - a conversation, an activity, a person - don't be afraid to express it. Who cares what other people think? Passion is passion, and nothing runs the world better than that. If you're disinterested in one of those three things previously mentioned - try to show it somehow. Like a conversation - if you don't want to talk anymore then stop giving full responses. Don't waste your time, and don't waste the other person's time. If the other person continues to talk to you then they're just idiots. And if an activity bores the hell out of you - stop doing it! Do something that genuinely interests and excites you. Don't "do it because everyone else doing it" like that honestly is one of the stupidest excuses on Earth.
Why didn't Monta Vista teach us these things? Why did I have to discover this later in life? Granted, I'm sure people at Monta Vista did learn these things - and I feel good for them - because discovering this truth in Monta Vista is a near-impossible adventure in itself. Monta Vista just brought out the pretentious-ness in all its students.
