December 12th

Today in my English literature class, my professor decided to end the course with something interesting. We went around the class and each person had to:
  1. Thank anyone who has helped him/her in the class
  2. Where he/she expects to see him/herself in a year
  3. Where he/she expects to see him/herself in five years
Everyone had pretty interesting goals, or rather, pretty much academic goals. Most are continuing their education after a year and being in an English class, most want to pursue careers in writing such as teaching, working for a publishing company, working for a production company, etc...

There's this one guy in the class who seemed like he didn't really care about this course and he looked really proud and didn't talk much, but today he obviously had to speak up. And he's also an English major and apparently he's not from this area so I guess that's why he acts so different. He says he feels really uncomfortable here and is not used to having nothing amusing to do in this (boring) city.

I guess sometimes I forget that everyone has their own back-story and I should not be quick to judge.
