YOU PEOPLE HAVE ISSUES.
They didn't 'copy' the book word for word. Hassan didn't have a harelip, and Assef didn't seem as threatening as I had expected. But overall, it was pretty accurate.
And VERY touching. I cried a lot x____x but it was good crying x] I'm very glad it wasn't as gory as I had thought. SUPER glad. I hate gore.
-__- But this makes me HECKA appreciative that I live in a democratic country omygoodness. I'm NEVER going anywhere that doesn't have a democratic government.
