Okay so I decided to blog about war - -"...
I'm sure a lot of us had of this 'story' before, but I'd like to just tell it again.
Basically, Germany and France were fighting each other during the winter of 1914. Up to Christmas Eve, both sides kept shooting at each other.
Then later in the day, the Germans began to hold up Christmas trees and sing traditional Christmas songs. The Allies (French), not knowing what else to do, also began to sing their own traditional Christmas songs, and thus shooting ceased for the meantime.
Finally on Christmas Day, December 25, 1914, shooting stopped for a whole day. German and French soldiers got up from their trenches and met with each other - exchanging goods such as food and drinks and such. Tables were set up for nice, big meals. Music was played to entertain both sides. The soldiers even played games together! Some generals of both sides shook hands and talked to each other! And it was like a dream of a White Christmas - in the midst of a beatiuful, snowy field, the way the Earth was supposed to be like.
However, other generals weren't happy with such events occuring. They used this time to re-supply their trenches, get an idea of what the enemy's position was like, and both sides wanted a "recommencement of hostilities" (under what retarded reasons?) Shortly after Christmas, both sides began shooting again.
- -" How I view this? With that common phrase "It's a rich man's war, but a poor man's fight." The soldiers have nothing to do with the war - and the generals didn't either - all they wanted was their pay of commanding around people and hoping to get become heroes or something.
*O* I just don't get why people can't see this event proving that though we don't agree on everything, there are beautiful things we all have in common. And the stuff we don't agree on is so...
x______x... 算了吧。反正這個爛世界永遠也不會明白。
