US CENSUS 2010

"We would like to remind Taiwanese Americans to check off "Other Asian" in the Race and Ethnicity section 9, and write in "Taiwanese" because there is no check off category.

This group is for anyone who supports the freedom to express one's own identity.

Whatever your race, may be, you can check off or write it in, and it will be counted, and you will be recognized. You are allowed to write in or check multiple categories.

Projections estimate 1.2 Million Taiwanese Americans in the US, but the 2000 Census recorded only 144K. We are severely under counted!

-The US Constitution requires a national census once every 10 years.
-Census forms will be mailed to every household in March and forms are due April 1, 2010.
-The census counts EVERYONE residing in the US.
-This includes non-citizens & international students.
-It's confidential - Your responses are protected by law.
-10 questions, for 10 minutes is all it takes.

It's IMPORTANT -
Census data directly affects how more than $400 BILLION per year in federal and state funding is allocated to communities & non-profit organizations. That's more than $3 TRILLION DOLLARS over the 10 year period.

What can you do?
Help spread the word! Ask your friends and family if they know they can write in "Taiwanese" on the Census. This is our time, our time is now.

BE PROUD. BE COUNTED. WRITE IN " TAIWANESE" "
