Speaking and talking are not the same thing.
Listening and hearing are not the same thing.
Looking and seeing are not the same thing.
Speaking, listening, and looking needs much more attentiveness, not just from the place where we receive those senses, but somewhere deeper.
And so nowadays we go around talking about the Lord, hearing about His works, and seeing what He has left for us... Do we ever look for him? Are we actually listening to Him with his daily cries out to us? ...and we forget sometimes that Christianity is more of a relationship than a religion. There are morals to learn and other things to live by, but that is only a portion of it.
We just think there is a God. Well yes, there is a God, but He is not only just some authoritative upper being, and we are not just "sinners in the hands of an angry god".
He's our father, our best friend, savoiur, and anything else we can ask for - to anyone. One part of today's sermon I kind of disagree with is the point of "What do these believers have that I don't?" ... I think the thing is we all have the passion and loving and joy for something, but whether or not we want to direct it all to God is a different matter.
