War & Evolution

No, it's not War and Revolution. I'm going to ramble about two different topics under the same posts. ]: and DontPanic was my go-to for UK Politics and such but they haven't been updating so I don't really know where to look.

Anyway, about war. Today in church, our pastor started off the sermon talking about the Vietnam War Memorial, and the designer... Maya Lin or something.

Ok I'm gonna go off topic for a bit to say that in sixth grade I remember my teacher talking about her. It was really interesting because everyone in my class thought I was related to her. They had a stronger opinion of this especially after I told my teacher that my grandfather was also an architect. But yea, I was just really surprised about hearing about this person again.

The beginning of the sermon just started getting me to think. Why the hell are we fighting? What's the freaking use of gaining territory, power, wealth, and all those worldly things? So what, you have power. Yea, possibly for like one decade and then the rest of your life and people will hate you. You have wealth, yet you can't take it with yourself to death. And as long as you claim a land, there will always be struggles of trying to keep it yours. People will eventually tire out trying to keep it theres, anyway. OH and you know what's even worse, once you die, that land can't be yours anymore! And you spent so much time to trying to 'protect'. O well, poor you.

I'm so glad I'm a Christian. It keeps me not to obsessed about worldy things, and reminds me that the stuff I have now for the time being are nothing compared to the time FOREVER in Heaven.

And you know what else? When everyone listens to you, no one listens to you. So think twice before doing something idiotic, freakin dictators and power thirsty pigs.

And about evolution... you know, that scientific theory that we were all once single-celled organisms. Even though I'm a Christian, I have a hard time believing the book of Genesis. Evolution's evidence are really plausible, and I have trouble trying to believe the story in the Bible about the Tower of Babylon (is that how you spell it? Sorry). I was then told that Adam and Eve possibly were single celled organisms... but that's not possible because they had FULL human bodies. Also, where did Cain/Abels' wives come from? I thought Adam and Eve were the only two people on Earth. How did they have daughter-in-laws when the only two people on Earth gave birth to sons?

I'm just kind of scared about junior year, because I'm going deep into Biology (Advanced Placement). I just pray I won't get sucked further into this whole evolution theory thing. Actually, I have this book explaining "The Truth about Evolution"... which I should probably read sometime... and soon.
